Be still, Take a Quiet Time Break

                                                     
                                                

    Matthew 11:28-30 
"Then Jesus said, 'Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light."

Jesus has told us to "be still and know that He is God." Let us do that often, take a break and just visit with Him. He loves your fellowship and you will love being in His presence. We will hear Him say, I am sure, “Don’t Go Yet.” He loves to hear our voice. We need to learn what Jesus meant when He said, “Be Still.” There, my friend, is where those burdens become lighter. He just rolls them away. Life can become a song, not a burden.

If you are like me there are times when you need to come aside somewhere and rest awhile. Jesus even suggests to his disciples to find a quiet place.

We get so busy in a world that can demand so much of us. That is the case in Mark 6:31; they had been so busy with the needs of others they had forgotten to take care of themselves. Jesus told the disciples, "Find a quiet place and take a break."

In Matthew 11, we are invited to come to Him, for there you will find rest. The way to search for peace of mind is to find rest in God. His Holy Spirit comes alongside of us, and that makes it so much easier. He teaches us what it means to "Be Still." I am telling you, life will get so much easier.

The word "easy" in Greek is chrestos, which means, well fitting. Jesus makes our yoke fit well, the life Jesus gives is not heavy, it has been carved out just for us.

One has been quoted as saying, 'My burden has become my song.' Whatever Jesus gives He gives in love. Whatever Jesus allows, comes with a light weight.

Our enemy takes pleasure in trying to mess up our mind and make us think it is too much, I cannot take it. However, not Father God; His Holy Spirit will always give us the power to deal with the challenges that are set before us.

Find rest in your soul today in that place where we allow our mind, emotion and will to invite His presence. We then can sing with the Psalmist,” He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul.” I assure you that you can find your song of praise and rest in Him. He is waiting, just speak out His name and feel the pressure lift. Why not join me in a song?

"Father God, thank you and praise you for your Holy Spirit. We are reminded as we spend time with you how necessary it is to 'Be Still.' The outcome is an overflow of God's Presence."
